Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Author Guidelines
Authors must submit manuscripts online through the journal system. For each article submitted, the author must follow the terms and conditions in accordance with the Style Guide of Journal General Education (GERDU) which can be downloaded in the journal template.
Instructions for Writers
The author confirms that the article has not been previously published, and has not transferred any rights to the article elsewhere.
The author must ensure the authenticity of the work and properly cite the work of others according to the reference format. The author may not commit plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
Authors should ensure that they follow the authorship criteria taken from the Journal General Education (GERDU) described in the instructions for authors.
Authors may not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time.
The author does not publish redundant manuscripts describing the same research in more than one journal.
Writing should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, implementation or interpretation of the reported study.
Others who have made significant contributions must be listed as co-authors.
The author ensures that all authors have seen and approved the submitted version of the manuscript and the inclusion of their names as co-authors.
The author does not suggest any personal information that can make a client's identity identifiable in the form of any description section, photo or genealogy.
The author must provide data and work details to the editor, if there is any suspicion of falsification or falsification of data.
If at any time, the author finds significant errors or inaccuracies in the submitted manuscript, the errors or inaccuracies must be reported to the editor.
Journal writers should clarify anything that could cause a conflict of interest such as employment, research fees, consultant fees, and intellectual property in the Journal General Education (GERDU) disclosure document.

Copyright Notice
- Copyright on any open access article in a journal published by SpringerOpen is retained by the author(s).
- Authors grant SpringerOpen a license to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher.
- Authors also grant any third party the right to use the article freely as long as its integrity is maintained and its original authors, citation details and publisher are identified.
- The Creative Commons Attribution License 4.0 formalizes these and other terms and conditions of publishing articles.
In addition to Journal Education and Teaching's copyright policy, some journals also follow an Open Data policy and the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Public Domain Dedication waiver applies to all published data in these journals. Further information can be found on the individual journals pages and in the license agreement.
Where an author is prevented from being the copyright holder, minor variations may be required. In such cases the copyright line and license statement in individual articles will be adjusted, for example to state ‘© 2016 Crown copyright’. Authors requiring a variation of this type should inform Journal General Education (GERDU) during or immediately after submission of their article. Changes to the copyright line cannot be made after publication of an article.
Exceptions to copyright policy
There may be exceptions concerning copyright and licensing for articles which were previously published under policies that are different from the above. For instance, occasionally Journal General Education (GERDU) may co‐publish articles jointly with other publishers, and different licensing conditions may then apply. In all such cases, however, access to these articles is free from fees or any other access restrictions.
Information specifically regarding permissions and reprints can be found here. Please contact us if there are questions.
